Dayeong is a Korean aid worker with more than five years of experience across multiple countries, including Bangladesh, Timor-Leste, and
Vietnam. Driven by her strong commitment to addressing educational inequities, Dayeong has focused on advancing higher education and TVET,
promoting girls’ education, and fostering early childhood support.
Previously, she served as Country Program Manager at ChildFund Korea and, before that, as Program Manager and Young Professional at the Korea
International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). She has also studied and researched education in both South Korea (National University of
Education) and the United States (Stanford University), always striving to bring her academic expertise into the field. In addition, she
received the Talent Award of Korea in 2019 for her contribution to international development as an emerging leader.
As an Associate Project Officer at UNESCO, Dayeong is now ready to support Iran’s TVET system towards a more green, digital, and inclusive
economy. At the same time, she is expanding her academic and professional interests to examine the role of human capital in grand strategy and
techno-politics.
1. I’m scared of flying—which is ironic, considering my work in international development involves a lot of travel.
2. I once dreamed of becoming Korea’s first female astronaut when I was a kid. I still haven’t fully given up on it. (How different is that from flying?)
3. My favorite English song is Fly Me to the Moon (fly again?), and I’m waiting for the chance to sing it on stage one day!
